INDUSTRIAL ETHERNET
Ethernet is a communication technology specifying the cooperation between software (protocols, stacks, etc.) and hardware (modules, cables, distributors, network cards, plug-in connectors, etc.) for cable-bound data networks. Originally, this technology was developed for local data networks (LANs). Ethernet defines the data exchange in the form of data packets between a network of connected devices.
Currently, transfer rates of 10 Mbps, 100 Mbps (Fast Ethernet), and 1000 Mbps (Gigabit Ethernet) to 10 Gbps are in use. The Ethernet protocols cover all areas of a data transfer:
